David M. Gosky, MA, MBA, Vice President of Cancer Research Operations at Fox Chase Cancer Center–Temple Health, has concluded his tenure as Treasurer of the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI), capping six years of leadership marked by significant financial growth, organizational improvements, and initiatives to strengthen cancer centers nationwide.
Gosky served two consecutive three-year terms as Treasurer from 2021 to 2026, while also chairing AACI's Finance and Investment Committee. During his tenure, the association's investment portfolio grew by 51%, while net assets increased by 29%, strengthening its financial position and ability to support member cancer centers. Gosky also helped modernize AACI's membership application process, improving the organization's administrative operations.
Beyond his financial stewardship, Gosky played an important role in advancing three AACI presidential initiatives addressing critical challenges facing the nation's cancer centers. These included the Leadership Development and Diversity Initiative, led by Caryn Lerman, PhD, from 2021 to 2023; the Partnerships and Collaboration Initiative, led by Robert A. Winn, MD, from 2023 to 2025; and the ongoing Understanding Access to Cancer Care Initiative, led by Joann Sweasy, PhD. Through these efforts, Gosky helped support national conversations about leadership development, institutional collaboration, and expanding access to cancer care.
Gosky's contributions also extended to developing the next generation of cancer center leaders. In 2022, he helped establish AACI's New Directors Meeting, an annual program held immediately before the association's annual meeting, and helped facilitate the program through 2024. As a member of the 2021–2022 Presidential Initiative Steering Committee, he also co-authored "Leadership Diversity and Development in the Nation's Cancer Centers," published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute in 2022. In addition to delivering the Treasurer's report at AACI annual meetings, Gosky participated in ten other presentations or panel discussions at AACI meetings between 2017 and 2026.
Gosky joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in August 2026 after serving as Executive Director of Administration at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. With nearly three decades of experience in cancer research administration, he now helps lead strategic and operational initiatives across Fox Chase's research enterprise, with particular emphasis on strengthening clinical trials operations and accelerating the translation of scientific discoveries into advances that benefit patients. His national leadership was also recognized in 2025 with the Association of Cancer Executives' Marsha Fountain Award for Excellence in Oncology Administration. He is the President-elect for the Association of Cancer Center Administrators and serves as the Treasurer for the Association of Cancer Executives.
Although his tenure as Treasurer has concluded, Gosky remains a member of AACI's Finance and Investment Committee, on which he has served since 2020. His continued involvement reflects a longstanding commitment to strengthening the nation's cancer research institutions through sound financial management, leadership development, and collaboration. His contributions to AACI also bring valuable national experience and relationships to Fox Chase as the cancer center advances its research priorities and expands opportunities for patients to benefit from innovative cancer care.
