PHILADELPHIA (October 29, 2025) — Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Mary Novak, DO, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology and the Fox Chase – Temple Urologic Institute.

Novak joins Fox Chase from Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she served as a general urologist. She brings with her clinical expertise in the management of urolithiasis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary incontinence, female pelvic medicine, and urologic oncology, including prostate and bladder cancer.

Novak earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Virginia Campus. She completed her urologic surgery residency at Charleston Area Medical Center, a high-volume tertiary referral center and the region’s only Level I trauma center.

During her training, she gained significant experience in robotic surgery, laser technologies, and advanced diagnostic techniques, including MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy and transperineal biopsy. Her clinical interests include kidney stones, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and female and male voiding dysfunction.

Novak is a member of the American Urological Association, Society of Women in Urology, and Society of Endourology. She has presented research at academic conferences and contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including work on outpatient recovery following robotic prostatectomy and the integration of telemedicine in academic institutions.

Novak’s tenure at Fox Chase began on September 1.
