Treatment Philosophy

I joined the Fox Chase Cancer Center in 2008 after completing my training in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).  I have an extensive critical care background at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital.

The most appealing aspect of anesthesia is the optimistic intention to prevent pain, in order to facilitate necessary medical and surgical interventions. It is truly rewarding for me to be able to integrate advances in medicine and technology toward helping people and relieving suffering.

The practice of anesthesia is a team approach in which we are responsible for the patient before, during and after their surgery. Assuaging a patient’s fears and anxieties works synergistically with anesthesia medication. We provide detailed explanations to both the patient as well as their family members in order to answer all of their questions.

The anesthesia team must have an understanding of each patient’s unique medical history and problems in order to provide the most effective, safest care plan.  I have a passion for attending to patient’s needs holistically as well as applying principles based on science and medical evidence. This comprehensive approach ensures that all patients receive the utmost quality of anesthesia care at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
