PHILADELPHIA (July 23, 2024) — A new study published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications by researchers from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and the Fox Chase Cancer Center sheds light on how protein phosphatases target proteins and help regulate cell cycle progression, work that could help lay the groundwork for potential new targets for cancer therapies.

Reddy, MD, FACS, an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Program Director of the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship, and Co-Director of the Marvin & Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute, has been promoted to Division Chief of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

PHILADELPHIA (July 19, 2024) — Richard Bleicher, MD, FACS, Director of the Breast Oncology Fellowship program and Clinical Director of the Breast Service Line at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been named the 2023-2024 University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship’s Annual Distinguished Commencement Visiting Professor. Bleicher was unanimously elected as this year’s distinguished professor by the MD Anderson fellows.

PHILADELPHIA (July 18, 2024) — Yu “Sunny” Liu, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Nuclear Dynamics and Cancer Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) of the National Institutes of Health to study how misfolded human genome can cause disease.

PHILADELPHIA (July 18, 2024) — Teh Lin, PhD, DABR, FAAPM, an Associate Professor in Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Department of Radiation Oncology, has been named a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).

PHILADELPHIA (July 17, 2024) — Lauren Farnon, MSHS, disease site research manager for the Thoracic Cancer Program and the Head and Neck Cancer Program research teams, has been selected as a member of the ECOG-ACRIN Clinical Research Associates Core Committee.
