In addition to training postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, Fox Chase Cancer Center has active research education programs for undergraduate college and high school students. These programs give students the opportunity to work on research projects with Fox Chase Cancer Center faculty during the summer and after school.
Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship Program
Mentored Research Experiences
Fox Chase Cancer Center has a long history of mentoring undergraduates using summer research projects. Since the early 1990's Eileen Jaffe has had oversight for a competitive undergraduate summer research fellowship program which has funded between 12 and 15 Fellows per summer. More
High School Student Scientist Program
The High School Student Scientist program is designed especially for high school students, 9-11 grade, who are interested in finding out what it is like to be a scientist. This program allows students to work under the guidance of a scientist on an original research project for a full year. Students work after school and full time in the summer as they learn science information, practice inquiry skills, and try out the life of scientist. More
Lincoln University – Fox Chase Partnership in Cancer Research and Training
The Lincoln University – Fox Chase Partnership in Cancer Research and Training is a P20 grant collaboration funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), in an effort to enhance the instruction of minority and majority scientists at Lincoln and Fox Chase about cancer health disparities. Students in the program will learn key cancer principles through first-class biomedical and population-based research as well as participate in scientific conferences and various team-based projects.
