Non-oncologists have an increasing role in the delivery of quality care for cancer patients at Fox Chase.
The Department of Medicine, created in 2007, includes doctors with expertise in the fields of Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Pulmonology. These non-oncology physicians deliver quality care for cancer and non-cancer patients, providing medical management of existing diseases, prevention screenings for those patients at high risk, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures and treatments.Department of Medicine Staff List
Dermatology
All appointments can be scheduled via the Dermatology office
at 215 728-2754.
Clinical services provided by Fox Chase Dermatology include skin cancer screening, early detection and surveillance as well as state-of-the-art treatment, such as Mohs micrographic surgery and photodynamic therapy. Consultations are provided to those at risk for or already diagnosed with skin cancer and oncology patients with dermatologic complications. Endocrinology
All appointments can be scheduled via the New Patient office or 215-728-2600 for follow-ups.
As part of Fox Chase’s multi-disciplinary care of thyroid cancer, Dr. Veloski sees outpatients on Friday mornings for management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders and ultrasound-guided thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsies.
Gastroenterology
All office appointments can be scheduled via the Gastroenterology office at 215 214-1475. All procedure appointments can be scheduled via the endoscopy unit at 215 214-1421.
The Gastroenterology physicians at Fox Chase Cancer Center provide a full array of diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative gastrointestinal services to patients with and without cancer. More

Hospitalists
At Fox Chase, the hospitalist service enhances the continuum of care by providing an additional level of support for patients who may be dealing with diseases in addition to cancer or suffering from complications of cancer or cancer treatments. For patients admitted to the Medicine inpatient service, hospitalists serve as their overall care coordinator.

Interventional pulmonology is a relatively new field within pulmonary medicine. It uses advanced bronchoscopic and pleuroscopic techniques to treat a variety of thoracic (chest) disorders ranging from tracheobronchial obstruction and stenosis to pleural effusions associated with cancerous lung tumors.
