A majority of cancer care at Fox Chase is provided in an outpatient setting in our ambulatory care department. From initial diagnosis to treatment and survivorship, we are dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centered care. Services we offer include cancer prevention, diagnostics, physician consultations, cancer treatment, clinical trials and survivorship care. With more than 75 physicians in diverse oncology specialties, we are able to offer patients comprehensive multidisciplinary care in a comfortable, patient-friendly setting.

Scheduling and new patient registration/patient check-in in our ambulatory care department is centralized to allow for coordinated patient care. Our registration staff works with our patients and clinical staff to facilitate physician orders, plan patient schedules and coordinate visits. Our staff includes individuals who specialize in the new patient intake process and who link with disease-specific nurse navigators to ensure patient appointments are made with the most appropriate provider based on the patient’s diagnosis. Visit our patient center to learn more about what you need to know for your first visit to Fox Chase, including scheduling and patient registration.

Physician practice specialties are often located together and divided by disease sites for optimal patient care. We also offer several clinical and multidisciplinary programs where a team of specialists (which may include surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and radiologists) consult with one another to present patients with a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to their specific diagnosis and case. Some specialty programs include:

Nursing care in our ambulatory care department is provided by RNs and clinic assistants. The nursing team plays an important role in patient care and works with patients to assess their needs, assist with performing procedures, conduct health education, promote patient advocacy, coordinate nursing and other health services, and assist with patient navigation through the health system. Our team also offers telephone support for patients with medical questions or concerns they have after and in between their appointments.

Programs and services located within the ambulatory care department include:
