Caregiver Research Study

Study Opportunity on Mindful Meditation for Cancer Caregivers

A new research study is being performed at Fox Chase Cancer Center with the purpose of evaluating the use of mindful meditation practice for informal caregivers of cancer patients.

We are seeking family members, friends, neighbors, and volunteers who assist cancer patients with care in the home to participate in our study title: "Use of a Mindfulness Meditation App by Informal Cancer Caregivers: A Feasibility and Acceptability Study".

You are eligible if you are age 18 or older and provide care now for a patient age 18 or older with any type of cancer.

Study participants will be given instructions on how to download and use an app available at no cost on your portable device to help you practice meditation. The length of the study participation is two months. Participants will complete three questionnaires at the beginning of the study and three at the end of the study. Completion of the three questionnaires each time will take approximately 15 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential. A possible benefit of participation is to learn about mindfulness and meditation.
