American Head and Neck Society Advanced Training Council
The Head and Neck Oncologic Fellowship is a one-year program approved by the American Head and Neck Society Advanced Training Council

The fellowship is a one-year, head and neck oncologic surgery program, with a substantial endocrine component. The Head and Neck fellow will gain significant experience with  local and regional flaps as a result of the high volume of advanced cutaneous malignancies treated at the institution. Microvascular reconstruction training is optional. Management of advanced and recurrent thyroid cancers, use of intermittent and continuous laryngeal nerve monitoring and transoral robotic surgery  are prominent components of the curriculum.

Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC) was one of the first designated an National Comprehensive Cancer Center (NCI) in the United States, with a long tradition of multidisciplinary cancer care, participation in national cooperative group trials and translational  research.

Members of the Center are active participants in multiple clinical trials groups, and the fellow will participate in recruitment and follow up of trial subjects. Didactic teaching occurs at multidisciplinary educational conferences. Each fellow should anticipate a well-rounded head and neck oncology experience in the technical management of complex problems, as well as surgical decision-making related to all aspects of head and neck surgical oncology.
