Giving Birth at a Young Age Protects Mothers Against Developing Breast Cancer

PHILADELPHIA (June 14, 2019) – It has been observed for nearly 300 years that women who have their first child at a young age carry a decreased risk for developing breast cancer throughout their lives. The Irma H. Russo, MD, Breast Cancer Research Lab at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and colleagues have recently demonstrated the biological basis for this naturally protective process.

Combination of Axitinib and Nivolumab Safe for Patients with Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma, Efficacy Testing Ongoing

PHILADELPHIA (May 23, 2019) — A new combination of established kidney cancer drugs has demonstrated safety and encouraging efficacy in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC),  according to a new clinical trial lead by Matthew Zibelman, MD, on the combination of Axitinib and the PD-1 inhibitor Nivolumab.
