Pulsed Low-Dose Pelvic Reirradiation Safe, Provided Tangible Benefit for Patients With Few Other Options

PHILADELPHIA (September 22, 2020) – Patients with cancer who have had prior radiation to the pelvic region often have very few treatment options if the cancer comes back or a new cancer is discovered in the same location. Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have now shown that pulsed low-dose rate radiation for pelvic reirradiation was a safe treatment option that resulted in high rates of pain reduction.

Fox Chase Cancer Center Increases Issued Patents for Fiscal Years 2019 and 2020

PHILADELPHIA (September 17, 2020)—Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce that its scientists and clinicians earned several new patents during fiscal years 2019 and 2020, the latter of which ended June 30, 2020. The number of issued patents increased by 71% compared to fiscal years 2017 and 2018 cumulatively.

Fox Chase Cancer Center Hosts 2020 Virtual Paws for the Cause

PHILADELPHIA (September 16, 2020)—This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fox Chase Cancer Center will hold its 21st annual Paws for the Cause dog walk virtually. The event, hosted by the Fox Chase Board of Associates, has raised more than $500,000 for cancer research at Fox Chase, and although this year’s format will be different, the goal is the same.
