Richard Millham

Richard MillhamDick Millham and his late wife both received exemplary treatment for cancer at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and he is passionate about his planned gifts to fund “research, research, research.”

“We need to find a cure for this dread disease that tears at so many individuals and their families,” says Richard, 79, who is planning gifts to Fox Chase from his IRA, his company profit-sharing plan, and his will.

Dick, a native of Abington, Pennsylvania, graduated from Ursinus College and for many years has owned an insurance agency in Doyleston, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Virginia, who died 15 years ago, were married for 38 years. They have two children, Carolyn and Rick, and four grandchildren. Dick and Virginia met in a church youth group, and Dick thanks “God’s blessings and leadership of His Spirit throughout my life.”

Dick lauded the way that Fox Chase Cancer Center cared for him and Virginia. “I and my wife received outstanding care,” Dick says. “My experiences have influenced me in making this gift.

“God has blessed me abundantly,” Dick says. “I have made adequate provision for my children, but the bulk of my estate is destined for charity. I make generous gifts annually to charity, but my estate seems to me to be my way of establishing a legacy that will help others less fortunate than myself.”
