Fox Chase Cancer Center Endowed Chairs

Louis Della Penna Family Chair in Head and Neck Oncology

The Gloria and Edmund M. Dunn Chair in Thoracic Surgical Oncology

Established in 2002 by Edmund M. Dunn and his late wife Gloria, this chair was created to honor and support an outstanding leader in the fields of lung cancer research and thoracic surgical oncology who represents the highest standards of excellence.

Paul Grotzinger and Wilbur Raab Chair in Surgical Oncology

Established in 2001 with a bequest from Fox Chase patient G. Wilbur Raab and gifts from Dr. Grotzinger's family and friends, this chair honors Paul J. Grotzinger, MD, Chief of Surgery at the American Oncologic Hospital from 1960 to 1974, and supports an outstanding leader in the field of surgical oncology who represents the highest standards of excellence.

The Samuel M.V. Hamilton Chair in Cancer Prevention

Dr. Engstrom, who joined Fox Chase in 1970, has devoted his professional and academic career to improving cancer prevention and early detection research and service.

Gerald E. Hanks Chair in Radiation Oncology

Established in 2005, the chair honors Gerald E Hanks, MD, who served as Fox Chase's chairman of radiation oncology from 1985 until he retired in 2001.

G. Willing "Wing" Pepper Chair in Cancer Research

Created in 1999 by Fox Chase Cancer Center Board Member Jane Pepper and friends and colleagues, this chair honors G. Willing "Wing" Pepper (1909-2001), former president of Scott Paper Company, a noted Philadelphia philanthropist, and Fox Chase board member from 1973 to 1987. The chair was established to acknowledge and support an outstanding leader in the field of cancer research who represents the highest standards of excellence.

This chair was established to recognize and support an outstanding leader in the field of cancer research who represents the highest standards of excellence.

Jack Schultz Chair in Basic Science

Timothy R. Talbot Jr. Chair in Cancer Research

This chair honors Timothy R. Talbot Jr., MD, the visionary scientific director of the Institute for Cancer Research and the first president of Fox Chase Cancer Center. One of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s most generous and most consistent supporters, The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust established this chair in 1998 as a powerful demonstration of their confidence in Fox Chase’s stellar faculty and to advance the philanthropic vision of its founder William Wikoff Smith (1920-1976), a Philadelphia businessman.  This chair supports an outstanding leader in the field of cancer research who represents the highest standards of excellence in academic research.
