Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine
Complex medical dermatology, oncodermatology, skin cancer, infectious disease-related dermatology, general dermatology
My treatment philosophy is to take care of my patients the same way I would do for the ones I love the most, my family and friends. I treat each patient with respect, humility, and compassion while practicing evidence-based medicine.
My love and passion for medicine and dermatology led me to seek diverse experiences and to learn from outstanding mentors in the field from throughout the United States and around the world. It has been a beautiful multicultural journey which began in Panama where I was raised. I completed my medical school, internship, and residency in dermatology there, but this unpredictable voyage called life had another destiny for me. I completed dermatology clinical mentorships in Spain and the U.S. and was then honored to be selected for a post-doctoral dermatology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). After falling in love with the United States, I decided to build my family here in my new home. My devotion to my profession and specialty led me to complete a second dermatology residency, this time at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The totality of my broad and diverse education and experience has provided me unique perspective when caring for patients. It has strengthened the foundation of my treatment philosophy and confirmed my deep belief that no matter what one’s color, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sexual orientation, or nationality may be, I must always be honest, respectful, humble, and compassionate to provide the best patient care.
