The Head and Neck support group meets the third Tuesday of every month. This monthly group offers education and support for patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy for head & neck cancer. Family members are also welcome. Learn how others have dealt with cancer-related problems and share what has worked for you and your family. Educational services are provided by a speech therapist, physical therapist, clinical nurse specialist and social worker.
The Ostomy support group meets every third Thursday of each month. An ostomy is a surgical procedure that creates an opening (a stoma) from an area inside the body to the outside. Examples of ostomies include colostomy and urostomy. If you or someone you know has an ostomy and could use a little extra help and support, please join us for a monthly psychoeducational support group.
The Esophagectomy support group meets every fourth Monday of each month. Men and women diagnosed with esophageal cancer who are considering surgery or who have had surgery are invited to attend a monthly support group sponsored by Fox Chase Cancer Center.
This group, designed for esophagectomy patients, helps people learn about the procedure and share their experiences with others. The group is made up of newly diagnosed patients, those currently undergoing treatment, and those who are post-treatment patients who share successful ways of coping.
The Laryngectomy support group meets the fourth Thursday of every month. Laryngectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the larynx (voice box), often because of cancer. “The Speakeezy Club of Delaware Valley” is a Laryngectomy support group that provides information, education, and psychosocial support to patients and their families. Support is provided by a Social Worker and a Speech-Language Pathologist.
