Laryngectomy Support Group, August

7:00pm to 9:00pm

Laryngectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the larynx (voice box), often because of cancer. “The Speakeezy Club of Delaware Valley” is a laryngectomy support group that meets the fourth Thursday of every month (except for November and December, when it meets on the second Thursday of the month). The group provides information, education, and psychosocial support to patients and their families. Support is provided by a social worker and a speech-language pathologist.

Food Truck Friday welcomes Dos Hermanos Tacos, The Happy Pita, and Zsa's Ice Cream to the Fox Chase Cancer Center-Jeanes Hospital Campus on Friday, August 25, as the popular summer series continues each Friday beginning at 11 a.m. through September 29 in parking lot C.


Esophagectomy Support Group, August

7:00pm to 8:30pm

Men and women diagnosed with esophageal cancer who are considering surgery, or who have had surgery, are invited to attend a monthly support group sponsored by Fox Chase Cancer Center.

This group, designed for esophagectomy patients, helps patients and their families learn about the procedure and share their experiences with others. The group, which meets the fourth Monday of every month, is made up of newly diagnosed patients, those currently undergoing treatment, and those who are post-treatment patients who share successful ways of coping.
