Ride Hard Breathe Easy

Fox Chase Cancer Center staff are supporting a community effort to help raise awareness and funds for lung cancer research. "Ride Hard, Breathe Easy" is a 3,400-mile bike ride that John Matthews, a local SAP executive, will make from Philadelphia to San Francisco beginning August 24, and finishing in mid-October at the Golden Gate Bridge. Lung cancer advocacy organizations and many other supporters have railed around the effort, which Matthews is leading in memory of his mother, Kathleen, and all those affected by lung cancer.

Anyone can support the ride by following Matthews on social media, sharing what they are doing to fight lung cancer, or by making a donation through the Fox Chase team page. Funds will benefit the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation and the Lung Cancer Alliance and will focus on improving access to quality screening and care, accelerating more personalized research and treatments, and providing education to end the stigma associated with lung cancer.
