Aruna Turaka, MD

After completing my fellowship, I joined Fox Chase's department of radiation oncology in 2009. During my training, I took special interest in lung cancers. In my practice, I specialize in treating patients with lung cancer (with new treatment techniques like IMRT and SBRT), CNS malignances and leukemia/Lymphomas (CNS Lymphoma, Plasmacytomas).

The collaboration in the multidisciplinary team leads to better patient care. Through tumor board meetings we interact with other specialty faculty, which helps to decide the best course of care for tumors and better choices for individual patient treatments.

My philosophy has been to provide the best patient care to improve the quality of life. Along with an interest in research in lung cancer, I try to maintain a dual commitment to patient care and clinical research.
