Fox Chase Cancer Center Receives $4,700 Donation from Local Social Security Administration Employees
PHILADELPHIA (March 5, 2002) -- Employees of the Mid-Atlantic Social Security Center in Philadelphia, represented by Larry G. Massanari (right), Regional Commissioner, presented a check for $4,700 to Fox Chase Cancer Center executive vice president R. Donald Leedy.
The money is earmarked for breast cancer research and patient care at Fox Chase.
"We are committed to serving our community, not only with the Social Security programs we administer, but also through community involvement, " said Massanari. "Our employees come from the communities which we serve and many have been touched by breast cancer, either personally or through someone they love or know."
Employees at the Mid-Atlantic Social Security Center raised the funds through a variety of functions ranging from bake sales and arts and crafts shows to a breast cancer awareness auction.
