Fox Chase Cancer Center Hosts First Regional Workshop for Hospitals Seeking Magnet Recognition
PHILADELPHIA (April 3, 2002) — Fox Chase Cancer Center, the nation's first comprehensive cancer center and first Pennsylvania hospital to receive Magnet recognition, will host the first regional workshop for nurses interested in learning more about gaining Magnet status. The half-day workshop is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2002 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, and includes lunch. Individual consultations will be offered by appointment on May 3, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m ., May 4, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and May 5, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Consultation is $300 an hour.
Consultants from the American Nursing Credentialing Center will offer an overview of the Magnet standards and process, insights on gauging organizational readiness for Magnet, tips on thriving during the process, and onsite consultations. Fox Chase Cancer Center nurses leaders who were involved in Magnet process at Fox Chase Cancer Center will offer their experiences with the Magnet process.
