Fox Chase Cancer Center Specialist To Speak at Colorectal Cancer Symposium

PHILADELPHIA (May 20, 1999) -- Eric Goosenberg, M.D. of Fort Washington, Pa., a gastroenterologist and Director of Endoscopic Services at Fox Chase Cancer Center, will lead a physician panel discussion for the public on colorectal cancer and treatment options as part of Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer.� The symposium is on Friday June 4, 1999 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at The Wellness Community of Philadelphia, Ridgeland Mansion, Chamounix Drive, West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.

Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer, made possible by a grant from Roche, is for people living with colorectal cancer, their families, health professionals and interested others.� This free all-day symposium will provide the latest information about colorectal cancer, treatment options, ongoing care and suggestions for interacting with your healthcare providers.� Advocacy and public policy issues related to colorectal cancer will also be addressed.

Colorectal cancer is one of the three most common cancers for men and women with an estimated 130,000 Americans diagnosed with the disease each year.� Leaders in the field of cancer care will talk about managing side effects, nutrition, personal and family issues, and stress management.� Barbara Barrie, colorectal cancer survivor and television actress on "Suddenly Susan", will be a keynote speaker.
