Benefits of Breast Cancer Care at Fox Chase
Lori J. Goldstein, MD, an internationally known medical oncologist, established the Breast Evaluation Center in 1990. She is now the Center's director.
Our patients have the opportunity to enroll in national clinical studies unique to Fox Chase that target breast cancer treatment and behavioral science. To address concerns about the day-to-day aspects of breast cancer treatment, we offer an education session with a nurse and social worker.
Treatment decisions are eased through improved communication between patients and oncologists. Patients actively participate in the decision-making process. For example, a new test, Oncotype DX, helps you and your doctors decide whether chemotherapy is right for you.
The Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risk Assessment Program is closely integrated with The Breast Evaluation Center. Founded in 1991 by Fox Chase medical oncologist, Mary B. Daly, MD, PhD, this prevention-oriented program is designed for women at increased risk of breast and/or ovarian cancer.
